Meet our Fitness Trainers!
I have a passion for fitness and helping people reach their full potential. That passion comes from being a former teacher and having the ability to work with children. I have always participated in organized sports and have recognized the importance of health and fitness throughout this journey. My own training has taken me through competitive cross country, basketball, and most successfully, in track and field as a member of the BGSU women’s track and field team. Beyond college, I have had my own personal experience battling weight issues, and have only found success through proper nutrition, exercise, discipline, and patience. I have learned that “Living Fit” is the only way to maintain my personal fitness goals.

I became a trainer because I want to help people reach their goals by making fitness fun and a part of their everyday life! As a trainer, I like to show my clients how they can transform their bodies with strength training. My goal is to keep my client’s motivation strong and interest level high by utilizing a variety of exercises which can be performed inside and outside of the gym.

I played a variety of organized sports while growing up, but I found a true love for running while living along the Chicago lakefront after college. My love for running has evolved over the years into a passion for cross training and enjoying variety in my workouts. About 10 years ago, I was blessed with the opportunity to turn my passion for fitness into my career. I began working as a Group Fitness Instructor and eventually as a Personal Trainer as well. I truly believe variety is the key to keeping exercise fun, motivating, and effective, which is why I enjoy training in both group and one-on-one formats. The aspect I love most about my job is building relationships and trust with my clients and class members by sharing my passion and knowledge. My personal goal, as well as my goal for my clients, is to “Live FIT,” and make happy and healthy living a lifestyle.

In school, sports had a huge impact on my life. Ingraining the fact that with hard work and discipline any goal is attainable. From there, I developed a passion for fitness and health; it has always been my life, so I decided to make it my job. This enthusiasm has lead me to try to inspire others to be the strongest, healthiest, best possible versions of themselves — to inspire others to “live fit” in all areas of their lives. I believe this point of optimal health is achievable for anyone and everyone, so long as you have the right tools and the right mindset. With every client, it is my goal to help them find those tools and achieve that mindset to improve their life.

My intention, as a yoga teacher, is to provide a safe framework for my students to develop their personal practice and love of yoga. My class will focus on the building blocks of alignment, to create a solid foundation in posture and practice for my students. I have a passion for nurturing the mind of my students as well as teaching them the foundational poses of yoga, and enjoy adding elements to our practice that encourage self-exploration and inward discovery. My class is developed for beginners and is designed to teach the yogi to embrace their uniqueness in body and mind and how to honor that uniqueness in their practice.

I’ve been a Fitness Instructor for over 15 years, but just recently became a Certified Personal Trainer. I’ve always wanted to expand my knowledge and train people one-on-one, but raising three children put a slight delay in my plans. Now that they are older, I’ve taken the “fitness leap.” My passion for living a healthy, well-balanced lifestyle, coupled with my passion for helping people achieve things they didn’t think they had the strength, endurance, or will-power to do, makes me excited to work as a personal trainer. I enjoy teaching a variety of classes and am always willing to try new things to keep the body and mind challenged. I believe in alternating workouts through cross training and varying intensities to prevent injuries from creeping up; I believe in keeping the body guessing. Over the years I’ve taught a little bit of everything: water classes, stability ball, cycling, TRX, and all types of cardio/strength combo classes. With proper encouragement and dedication, we can accomplish anything. Embrace the healthiest you!

I have been teaching fitness classes for almost 25 years. During that time, I have taught many different formats, worked in university and corporate wellness, and trained instructors both nationally and internationally. About 15 years ago, I began transitioning to mind/body classes such as Pilates and yoga. I love how yoga incorporates strength, core work and flexibility. I also find it to be a wonderful complement for the other fitness activities we do. Yoga helps nurture our mind and spirit along with our body, helping us to live fit and live well.
My goal as a yoga instructor is to help my students find health and healing through yoga and other mind/body practices. I enjoy tailoring my classes to meet the needs of my students and relieving the symptoms they are experiencing.

Sports and fitness have always been a central part of my life. I played baseball and basketball growing up, and was always looking for ways to improve my performance on the field. This passion has continued as I look to help young athletes enhance their athletic ability and overall confidence. I have also had health issues of my own, which instilled in me just how valuable health is. I quickly learned that you have nothing without your health. This inspired me to help people of all ages work to improve their health, fitness, and overall quality of life. I enjoy working with people of various ages and fitness levels. To keep workouts fun, I incorporate a variety of exercise methods. I love coming to work every day with the opportunity to make a positive difference in people’s lives.
